Frequently asked questions
Can I request swtaches?
YES! We are happy to send you swatches, at no charge (limited to 5 swatches). If you would like to order swatches prior to making a purchase, you can send us an email at info@melanatedfabrics.com with your shipping address and a list of the fabrics and colors that you would like to sample.
Do you have a storefront?
I am local to San Diego, Can I pick up my order?
Currently we are not offering curbside pick up for locals. We are hoping to change that in the future and will post about it when we do.
Do you work with designers?
At the moment we are small online fabric shop that focuses on the needs of the home sewer and do not offer wholesale pricing, and our inventory is ever changing. We do however have a contact that we can refer you to if you are looking for wholesale pricing for your collections.
Can I modify or cancel my outstanding order?
Yes, you can cancel your order so long as your fabric has not been cut. Once your order has been cut we will not be able to cancel your order or offer a refund.
What is your return policy?
All sales are final and we do not accept returns or exchanges. If we have made an error with your order, please contact us at info@melanatedfabrics.com. Visit our returns page for more details.
Do you need help choosing fabric for your project?
If a fabric is sold out, will you be restocking it?
Do I have to follow the care instructions you provide?
Our care instructions come from the manufacturer and should not be ignored (i.e. don’t place wool in a dryer, it will shrink!). If you plan to ignore the care instructions and go rogue we highly recommend washing and drying a test swatch first. Treat your fabric the way you would a store bought garment (i.e. Dry clean silks & woolens and wash most cottons, rayons and knits).
